What is Nanotechnology?

Nanotechnology is a materials science, an advanced manufacturing discipline, and a basic R&D technology. Its building blocks are measured in nanometers.

A nanometer is 1/1,000,000,000 of a meter, or 100,000 times thinner than a strand of human hair.

Nanotechnology will open a $1 trillion market over the next 10-15 years in application spaces ranging from electronics to health care and pharmaceuticals.
